Beginning in July 2027, Virginia law (SB115) authorizes the Virginia Attorney General to review and revoke concealed carry reciprocity agreements. As reciprocity agreements evolve, a Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit may provide additional flexibility for those who travel by allowing lawful concealed carry in 35+ states through Utah’s reciprocity agreements. (Permit holders are responsible for verifying the laws of any state in which they carry.)

To obtain a Utah Non-Resident Permit, Utah requires completion of an in-person course taught by a Utah-certified instructor. There are no waiver or reciprocity options for the training requirement.

This combined Virginia & Utah Concealed Carry Class satisfies the training requirement to apply for:

• Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP)
• Utah Non-Resident Concealed Firearm Permit

The class is taught personally by Attorney Anderson, a licensed Virginia attorney, Utah-certified instructor, and NRA firearms instructor.

Class Information

• Length: Approximately 3–4 hours
• Format: Classroom instruction (no live-fire or shooting required)
• What to Bring: Nothing—all course materials are provided.

Class Fees

Tuition ranges from $75–$95 depending on the class location. Please refer to the individual class listing for the current price.

Class tuition does not include:

• Permit application fees
• Fingerprint card fees
• Passport photo costs (required for Utah permit applications)

Please Note: Individuals with restored firearm rights following a felony conviction may be eligible for a Virginia permit on a case-by-case basis. Utah does not issue non-resident concealed firearm permits to applicants with felony convictions, even if firearm rights have been restored.
